Participation Information

The purpose of the study is to capture user experience of the intelligent conversational agent after an interaction with the agent (hereafter referred to as the DARC chatbot).

Participants in the study will be asked to engage with the DARC chatbot to carry out specific tasks. The subsequent questionnaire about the interaction will ask questions relating to the chatbot's functionalities, capabilities, trustworthiness and reliability, and communication styles.

Participation is anonymous and the data collected will be used by VTT and ATC researchers to inform and facilitate the agent's design, development, and evaluation. The chatbot interaction and the questionnaire should take about 15-30 minutes.

Do I have to take part?

No, please note that participation is voluntary. If you do decide to take part, you may withdraw at any point for any reason before submitting your answers by pressing the 'Exit' button or closing the browser.

How will the data be used?

We will not collect any data that could directly identify you and your IP address will not be stored. Interaction logs and responses will be stored on secure servers administered by VTT and may be used in reports for the European Commission, publications, conferences, reports for external organizations, websites, or blog posts. Results of the questionnaire may also be used to formulate criteria for simulations of user perspectives which will be used to evaluate the DARC agent. The data will be stored for 8 years after publication or public release of the work of the research.

Who will have access to the data?

The data will be shared with project partners in the DS2 Consortium.
